I have avoided this page like the plague. I don't like writing about myself. It's much easier just to journal or display my works.

The quick rundown: I am a 32-year-old artist with a gorgeous twelve-year-old daughter. I married the love of my life in September of 2005. He's incredible and very supportive of my work and is part of what encouraged me to get this website going in the first place and to pursue my art as a career eventually. He wants to send me to art school in time, so for now I am self-taught as some artists say. I just draw my inspiration from the world around me and the bright look in my daughter's eyes.

I began drawing at a young age. As early as the second grade I saw that my sketches in crayon were a bit different from some of the other kids and I focused on putting what I saw in a photograph into a drawing and adding my own elements. Drawn in the second grade

Baby Leopard of 1992 - HighschoolOver the years I have experimented with various mediums. In highschool my favorite medium was charcoal. I began playing with the images of animals, beautiful women, bubbles, tendrils and other fun things back then. My biggest and most time consuming work of that time was a leopard in charcoal, poster size. I won an art show with that piece at the high school and I was hooked.
1993 - First watercolor painting I knew one thing I would never let go of in my life was my desire to create art. I began to fall in love with the fae and the magic of mythology at that time. I also had my first introduction to watercolors.
My paintings involve various processes and I am always learning. My primary focus right now has been on learning different watercolor techniques. However, I am tired of doing that. I want to unleash my creativity again and am ready to simply paint and sketch to my heart's content. I am determined to relocate the spark of 'different' in my art again and bring everyone the paintings that are really inspired by my love of nature, the beauty of human creatures, and the magic of the feline.1996 - fairy in a bubble
My primary influence in pursuing my dreams has been my husband. The praise from my little imp doesn't hurt. My family is my support system and my little girl will at times make color suggestions and give me ideas just because of the wonderful realm of imagination that she plays in. In time, I hope to bring my sculptures to the web as well. They are dragon busts I began to create years ago. Each one takes close to six hours of work but are a ton of fun to make, built layer upon layer from the wire frame up. dragon sculpture
