The Art of Shelah Dow

Persia

Large Image

Name: Persia

Date of birth: November 25, 2007

Fairy Doll Number: 20

Materials: She's a creation with Prosculpt fairy light polymer clay. She was lightly glazed and detailed with Genesis heatset oils and acrylics. Her hair is fine Tibetan lamb and she has her own throne.

Her Story: Large blue eyes, softly painted lips, a crown of sea baubles, this little web handed mermaid is lazing her day away in her own cove of in her father's palace.

Persia is a OOAK mermaid doll meticulously handsculpted in professional doll polymer clay. She has been baked to factory specifications and tested for strength and durability. She has passed with swimming colors. It's not often that I bring to life a creation with this much detail that is also delicate and tiny. If she were fully stretched out, such as to sunbathe on a beach somewhere, she would reach approximately 3.5 inches in length. Her skin is painted and blushed in Genesis heat set oils and her tail accented with acrylics, baubles and fibers. Persia's hair is a mix of grape and white Tibetan lamb hair.

Persia's palace getaway features a small wooden base covered in glitter and sand with several lovely shells to complete the look. Glass bubbles and baubles decorate the base and she has a 'Seeing bubble' that shows her various bits of the sea or the human world when she is feeling curious. This is topped with seaweed and a layered flower with bits of genuine glass glitter and green glass chips for added sparkle.
